운사당 대표 정자경씨는 전통 음악을 사랑하고 지키고자 하는 마음 하나로 30년 넘게 꾸준히 국악인으로 활동해 오고 있다. 국립국악원, 국립남도국악원, 국립민속국악원, 국립부산국악원 등에서 15여 회의 독주회를 가지며 왕성한 연주 활동을 해왔고, 또한 최근까지 국립남도국악원 기획단원으로 공연을 기획해 왔으며 전남대학교 국악과, 조선대학교 사범대학 음악교육과 겸임교수로 후학 양성에도 꾸준한 활동을 해오고 있다. 현재는 국가무형문화재 가야금산조 및 병창 이수자이며, 교육학 박사이기도해 문무를 겸비한 연주자로 평가된다. 

이번 공연은 성공적인 2030 부산 세계박람회 유치 기원과 부산마루국제음악제의 성공을 기원하는 마음을 담았다. 한국전통음악에 기반 두고 우리 조상들의 삶을 대표하는 여백, 희생, 효 등을 바탕으로 세계인들과의 소통하고 화합하고자 하였다. 무엇보다 부산마루국제음악제에 함께 하는 세계 음악인들에게 우리나라의 전통문화 우수성을 알릴 수 있는 소중한 기회가 될 것이고, 더불어 일반인들에게도 국악의 맛과 멋을 느낄 수 있는 소중한 시간이 될 것으로 기대한다. 

Unsadang leader Ja kyung Jung, who organized this performance, has been working as a gugak musician for more than 30 years having a love for Korean traditional music and a desire to preserve it. She has held more than 15 recitals at the National Gugak Center, the Jindo Natioanl Gugak Center, the Namwon National Gugak Center, the Busan National Gugak Center and others. She has also organized performances as a member of the the Jindo Natioanl Gugak Center’s planning team until recently, and is an adjunct professor at the Department of Gugak at Chonnam National University and the Department of Music Education at Chosun University College of Education.

Currently, Jung is a holder of the National Intangible Cultural Property Gaya Geum Sanjo and Byeongchang. She also holds a doctorate in music education, making her a more well-rounded performer.

Their performance at the Busan Maru International Music Festival was held to wish for the successful bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo, and also to wish for the success of the Busan Maru International Music Festival. Based on traditional Korean music, the performance aimed to communicate and harmonize with people around the world based on the themes of margin, sacrifice, and filial piety that represent the lives of our ancestors. Above all, this performance will be a valuable opportunity to inform the world musicians participating in the Busan Maru International Music Festival about the excellence of Korea's traditional culture, and it will also be a valuable time for the general public to feel the beauty of Korean music.
